How to Trigger an Earthquake
It's no secret that SoCal is due for a big earthquake. They can apparently predict with fair certainty we will get something like a 7.8-magnitude temblor within the next 30 years. 30 years? That's not very precise, is it?
But what if we think SoCal, especially Los Angeles, NEEDS an earthquake?
Maybe you agree with the guys from Tool:
Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of Freaks
Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
The idea that California may actually wash into the ocean with an earthquake is fantastical, of course. But metaphorically it's a nice idea.
So what if we want that quake sooner rather than later? What can we do??
Let's turn to magick (specifically The Key of Solomon the King [Clavicula Salomonis] by S. Liddell MacGregor Mathers), shall we?
Figure 17. The Seventh and Last Pentacle of Saturn
"This Pentacle is fit for exciting earthquakes, seeing that the power of each order of Angels herein invoked is sufficient to make the whole Universe tremble."
This sounds promising! Now I don't think just one little person (even a demon like me!) can cause the whole Earth (or even California) to shake violently all by themselves, but what if a LOT of people poured their energy into this talisman? Regularly...every time they were pissed off at the way the world is now, every time they wanted to shake things up--to start things over! Oh, maybe, then just maybe we might get somewhere....
Cuz I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.
Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

You don't get this song, or do you?
If you could read between the lines, you'll read that they want you to learn to swim. I think it's the only Tool song *ever* to which MJK really inserted hints like "don't read this literally, just try to guess the other meaning", and you still seem not to get the idea.
Oh and btw, an earthquake isn't what they've meant, rather something along omgwtf the icebergs are melting. If you'll dig through Tool's discography long enough, maybe you'll get this one thing at least... Tracks: Flood from Undertow ("Soon the water will come and claim what is mine. I must leave it behind and climb to a new place now."), AEnema from AEnima (you already know that), intro to Third Eye ("Here's Tom with the weather...") seems to be connected to Disposition from Lateralus ("Watch the weather change"), and that thunderstorm in Wings (from 10k Days). And have you seen the video for AEnema? You. Are. Getting. It. Wrong.
And one more question, aren't you afraid of polluting your karma? Coz you know, if "they" won't do something about the global warming, LA (and that half the world that is closer to the oceans) is like already under water anyway. So why don't you use your energy more... Creatively?
From your "about" page:
"""I love you and I may not even know you. It doesn’t matter. My heart is as large as internet is vast.
I love you all."""
Would trying to induce an earthquake count as a deed of love? If so, then I don't want to be loved by you.

Hey Izabael
It probably will happen anyway. People have been raping the Earth for far too long and perhaps we have reached a point of no return. I personally feel that we are allowed to interpret lyrics any way we like. I still love you:)

Wow. I don't usually get a chance to rant on my fans, but harry666t, you are an idiot.
First of all, don't presume to know what MJK means as if you know the guy. I've met him a few times; have you?
Second, you completely missed the point of my blog if you think I'm actually calling for a real earthquake. Are you that naive? Come on. Get a clue. It's metaphorical. Do you know anything about magick? About what Saturn means or symbolizes? It's the destructive side of creation, which is exactly what I think the song is about (notice I don't presume to tell you what MJK intended).
And destruction *is* a form of love, but I guess your mind can't fathom that.
(Note also the song is also about destruction of ATTACHMENTS if you want to get technical and bring in another layer [*cough* better read up on your meditation techniques if you don't get his one.] Hence the laundry list of things to be "destroyed":
Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your cable and
Fret for your car.
etc.
And usually I'm so nice when responding to contradicting points of view on my site, but *elitist Tool fans bug the fuck out of me.* Kiss my ass.

p.s. Thank you Joe :-)

@Iza, ok, all right, you're absolutely 100% correct. I'm a stupid & dumb idiot, I do not know a thing about Saturn, magick is black magic to me, I haven't ever talked with MJK, I sure as hell have no clue about various aspects of love, maybe also I cannot spell your name correctly, and generally I should go fsck myself as there seems to be nothing else I could be possibly useful for. Do you feel better now? (:
...But at least I think I have learned a lesson - to never underestimate other people, no matter how much their point of view may differ from mine, or how much *I* can't get *their* ideas... I'm really sorry.

Hah! She SAYS it's metaphor but I think she's really a demon and really does want an earthquake!!

You posted TOOL lyrics & that's good enough for me. I'm down for a natural disaster just over that!
But, I tend to cause large fires rather than unleash the power of the Earth. Fact is though, the Earth is on the move pretty heavy. We've had several significant examples of the Earth waking and shaking a bit lately - some of which have been pretty darn bad. Some of what another has suggested, the raping of the Earth, may partially be to blame. The NA PC has actually spoken about a 'shaking of the Earth' by the Great Spirit, many times of late, sighting human arrogance as partial reason. Were we to truly act as custodians of the Earth, and even judges of human nature - as perhaps some of us may have in past life-times .. it might be truly more proper, to instill a little more fear of nature. But, I'm really not going to try anything destructive .. simply because of what happened the last time I even studied a destruction spell ~ Faith is dangerous. I'm likely already going to hell .. hopefully they believe in tickle torture. ;)

Yo, Iza .. thas fukt up. I've never seen anyone try to give you grief before.
What the hell's wrong with that dude? As for me, my own Maynard experience didn't involve him, but was pretty questionable - I think it was just some kind of random dream I had because of some weird little situation involving a weird instant whore from nowhere in the bathroom at the last concert they had here. I mean .. surely, I wasn't for some reason - really asked to play chess on behalf of the Earth while I was that distracted. And surely to goodness gracious, no one just shows up and shares a flower smelling hookah with you while you have to play chess in a bathroom and uh .. yeah.. so. Anyways, metinks Maynard is keeping a ghost of my friend, who couldn't possibly have enough TOOL concerts, so hope they ridin on well together!
